Based at two UK locations, NG Johnson Ltd is well placed to provide a fast, effective response to customers throughout the UK. We also undertake projects worldwide including Europe, Middle East, USA, South America, Russia and Asia.

A significant part of our business is focused incineration, petro–chemical glass and aluminium but also extends into steel, heat treatment, chemical, fertiliser, heat exchanging, industrial boilers and plants.

As an independent company, with no ties to any manufacturer, NG Johnson Ltd is free to choose from the complete range of products on the market – guaranteeing a refractory best suited to your specific requirements.

Brickwork

Because NG Johnson Ltd installation teams are compromised almost exclusively of trained refractory bricklayers we can offer customers a total installation package. Our service covers individual or multi–refractory based linings, into heat treatment, aluminium, copper, incineration, glass, chemical salt bath treatment and boiler industries.

Monolithic Linings

The company has in–depth experience of monolithic installations and are now at the forefront of modern furnace.

As an independent company, we are free to select products from all the major monolithic manufacturers – ensuring our customers get the optimum material for their installation.

Glass Tank Insulation

As the exclusive installer of HT Regeneration spray for the Glass Industry, the material is a mineral wool based spray insulation suitable for use at temperatures up to 950oC. The insulation system is used extensively to seal and insulate glass tank regenerators, walls, flues and stacks. The product is installed with our own highly trained operatives and equipment.

Refractory Gunning

We use our fully–equipped teams of trained personnel to carry out both conventional cold gunning and hot gunning repairs where it is not commercially viable for the furnace to be turned off. With access to all the latest products on the market, we can install gunning in standard, low cement, ultra low cement and phosphate bonded grades.

Pre–cast Refractory Shapes

Casting and pre–drying of special refractory shapes – whether 5kgs or 3 tonnes – presents no problem. Bespoke formwork and mould production is handled at our own premises reducing costs and turnaround, while controlling quality. Our specialist in–house facilities, which include full vibration tables and oven drying facilities up to 750oC, enable us to deliver excellent turnaround times on one–off or large quantities.

Thermic Lancing

Thermic lancing offers the ideal alternative where conventional refractory / slag removal methods have not been successful. NG Johnson Ltd operates its own team of trained operators and equipment to provide a rapid response to customers needs at short notice.

Nikast

Nikast is a reinforced refractory composite consisting of a high grade refractory slurry and stainless steel fibres. Nikast benefits from excellent resistance to abrasion, impact and thermal shock, along with great strength.

IsoFoam

A sprayed ceramic fibre material, where the fibre is completely encapsulated with a specialist binder system, minimising dust and rebound. The grades range from body soluble, up to a 1350oC grade. It can easily be applied as full thickness linings as well as a maintenance spray over existing linings. Quicker to install than traditional ceramic fibre blanket, it can dramatically reduce downtime and turnarounds.

Supply and Installation

With modern industrial units equipped with a wide range of specialist equipment, NG Johnson Ltd is able to carry out all types of refractory repair and rebuilding in–house of customers equipment. Our facilities include available cranage and a precast department with kiln drying to handle everything from a one off project to high volume precast refractory shapes.

The company also operates is own fully skilled and equipped mobile crew to handle installation at customers own premises.
